The team, Dan Atkinson, David Elliott, Steve Mercer and Lloyd Keating, scored 62 off the stick.
It was a fun filled day with a great mix of players, sponsors, committee members, life members, former players, supporters and local businesses with a wide range of golfing ability.
While there was some ordinary golf mixed through the field of 130 golfers, there was some quality on display with players like Mick Perry scoring a prize for nearest the pin and Craig Maxwell for longest drive.
The Hawks would like to thanks all the volunteers who helped out on the day with a number of various tasks going into making the event a huge success.
A shout-out was delivered to Forster Tuncurry Golf Club staffers, Kyle Carmody, David Kleemann, Kevin Webster and Daniel Newton, who helped organise the event, the Forster greenkeeping team led by Peter Blain for presenting the course so well and Terry Campbell for organising all the extra carts for the day.
The guys at Buko’s Bistro also made sure all golfers were well fed after a big afternoon on the course.
We were happy to team with TJL Insurance and The Rowdy Championships to do a great job in raising funds for the Marshal Loadsman fund-raiser by holding a $10,000 hole in one competition.
The large amount of other sponsors and local businesses that got behind the day is very much appreciated.
With a great response from everyone involved and a successful job at raising funds, we hope that everyone is keen to get involved when the Bellevue Hotel defend the trophy at next years event.
The Hawks juniors and seniors will be co-hosting the first round of the under 16s and 18s Andrew Johns and Laurie Daley Cup this Saturday, February 16 at Harry Elliott Oval, Tuncurry.
The first of four matches kick off at 10:30am
