Members of Groundswell Gloucester will be heading to Sydney to await the NSW Land and Environment Court’s decision tomorrow morning, Friday, February 8 at 9.30am.
The decision will be in regard to Gloucester Resources Limited’s (GRL) appeal against Department of Planning and Environment’s (DPE) refusal of the development application for its Gloucester mine.
As part of the proceeding, members of the court visited several sites around Gloucester, including the proposed mine site and nearby residential estates in August 2018, before holding a public hearing at the Gloucester Soldiers Club.
There were four tables set up for each legal team involved in the appeal; one for GRL on behalf of the Rocky Hill project and one for Yancoal Australia, for the Stratford Coal extension, as well as, two for the respondents, the DPE and Groundswell Gloucester.
