Check out this little cutie pie. Twelve-week-old male ginger kitten Koi, is aptly named as his colouring resembles that of Japan’s popular pond fish. Kittens are so much fun as they are easily stimulated by chase toys and anything that moves. They are usually easy to train and need kitten food as opposed to too many treats or adult packaged food.

If you can, you could also think of adopting Koi’s darling little brother Nemo, who is also ginger and white. They would make great company for each other during the day. They are desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. If you’d like to adopt Koi or Nemo, call 0408 670 757.
Remember to leave pets in the shade with plenty of water during the heat of summer. We have heat wave conditions as the moment. While we often talk about cats and dogs, remember other small pets, such as rabbits, guinea pigs and birds, are particularly susceptible to heat.
We recommend you bring these animals indoors during hot weather. If allowed they could free run in a laundry or bathroom and they will benefit from the cool tiles. If this is not possible, drape their cage with wet towels and provide a sturdy icepack or frozen water bottle for the animal to lean against so it can to regulate its own body temperature. Make sure the animals' enclosures are out of direct sunlight and protected from the sun as the shade moves throughout the day.
