Pacific Palms Public School’s Futsal team has returned home from this year’s Australasian Champion of Champions triumphant despite the team’s unsuccessful campaign.
Teachers, parents and supporters were unanimous in their praise for the team.
“You represented our school with outstanding sportsmanship, skill and camaraderie,” they chorused.
“Well done we are very proud.”
After qualifying at the State championships the local team faced the very best from throughout Australia.
The team played seven pool games across three days coming up against some highly skilled and well drilled teams.
“Our team was able to taste victory against Manning Valley Anglican College and drew against Camden Haven High School.
And, although other results did not go our way the team demonstrated a fighting spirit that challenged some of the top teams in the competition.
“A fantastic effort.”
The team acknowledge coach Pete Masterantonio for his generous time and expertise.
“A huge thank you must also be extended to all the parents and caregivers for transporting and accommodating the team.”
