The Tuncurry campus has received a $300,000 Federal government grant to upgrade the kitchen area used by senior hospitality and food technology students.
“Students and teachers thrive when their schools have modern and up-to-date facilities – that’s why the Federal government is proud of the Capital Grants Program, which has benefited thousands of schools across the nation,” Member for Lyne David Gillespie said.
“The Government has committed $660 million until 2021, which provides funding for non-government schools to improve capital infrastructure.
“These upgrades will help advance Alesco Senior College - Coast Campus and ensure our classrooms have modern facilities.
“I congratulate Alesco Senior College for their successful grant and look forward to seeing the impact these improvements will have in our community.”
Campus director Theresa Pantelone said: “It’s great to finish the year knowing we can have really up to date industry standard facilities for our students next year.”
