Manning Hospital has been listed as one of 10 Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) hospitals to rank perfectly on performing elective surgeries on time over a three month period.
Nearly 99 per cent of all elective surgeries were performed on time across the health district, according to the latest BHI Healthcare Quarterly Activity and Performance Report for July to September 2018.
“Of the district’s 15 hospitals captured in the BHI report, 10 ranked perfectly for performing elective surgeries on time, which is fantastic to see,” said Mr Michael DiRienzo, chief executive of HNELHD.
The best performing hospitals include Manning, Tamworth, Belmont, Calvary Mater Newcastle, Narrabri, Inverell, Moree, Armidale, Gunnedah and Muswellbrook hospitals, where 100 per cent of elective surgeries were performed on time.
This performance across all categories exceeds the state average, and waiting times for all elective surgeries are well within the recommended time frames.
