A woman is in intensive care in Manning Hospital Taree after a tree branch fell on a car during a storm.
A 49-year-old woman was a passenger in a Nissan Murano being driven on Black Head Road, Hallidays Point, when a large branch fell on the car and penetrated the windscreen.
The woman received serious internal injuries and was removed from the vehicle by emergency services on Friday night.
A Toyota Yaris also was damaged.
The driver was uninjured.

Meanwhile in more weather-related news, it was a wet and wild weekend further north on the mid-north coast.
The Bellinger River at Bellingen peaked at 6.24 metres in the early hours of Monday morning.
It is at 4.30 metres and falling but is still causing chaos as a large tree branch has washed onto the side of the bridge, blocking people and vehicles from crossing.
