Great Lakes athletics star, Tarli Black returned to the NSW PSSA State Athletics Carnival last week, after an injury riddled year in 2017 saw her sidelined.
Tarli competed in the under 12 girls 100m and 200m sprint events at the carnival, after winning at the Zone and Regional levels over the past couple of months.
In an exciting return to the event, Tarli achieved some outstanding results, claiming second place in the 200m final and third place in the 100m final.
Tarli is now preparing to head to the 2018 Australian Track and Field Championships for primary schools from around the country to represent NSW.
She is looking forward to representing the State in the 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m relay at the event, which will be held in Melbourne from November 22-27.
Tarli also topped off a great week by being announced junior sportsperson of the year for the Myall Lakes at the recent Community Awards presented by Stephen Bromhead.
This has been a great achievement from Tarli after her injury riddled 2017, but she has been back training five days a week for the last six months.
