We all know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the community so here’s your chance to make sure they receive the recognition they deserve.
Nominations are now open for the 2019 Australia Day Awards, with four categories available across each of the three regions.
MidCoast Council is looking for nominations for individuals and community groups whose efforts contribute to the overall health and happiness of their wider communities.
It could be a friend, colleague, family member or group, who continually make a positive impact on those around them.
MidCoast Council mayor, David West is encouraging members of the community to get behind the awards and help to celebrate our local heroes.
“These awards are an important tradition for our communities and allow us to identify and celebrate those special members of our regions,” he said.
“This is one of the greatest honours we can bestow upon members of the community and there are so many worthy recipients out there who deserve to be recognised.”
There are four categories for nominations, including Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Activity of the Year (includes community events and projects), and Sportsperson of the Year.
