MidCoast Council will hold a community information session next week after receiving a second application for a manufactured home estate on land at Tallwoods.
The manufactured home estate is proposed on the same parcel of land at 303 Blackhead Road on which a similar application was previously refused.
"Planning legislation requires council to consider all applications received, regardless of any previous applications or determinations, so we will be undertaking community consultation and assessing this proposal on its merits," MidCoast Council's acting director of Planning and Natural Systems, Paul De Szell said.
This means council cannot consider previous submissions for other proposals during the assessment process for this application.
"Our planning framework and legislation facilitates this type of development, so council assessment will consider whether the proposal meets the planning requirements for the site, and whether amendments are required to the application,” Mr De Szell continued.
"This proposal does differ from the previous application, so we would encourage everyone to examine the proposal on our website and if there are any concerns, to attend the community information session, at Black Head SLSC on Tuesday, October 2, from 6pm."
The information session will provide an opportunity for community members to understand the facts around the current development application, the process council will apply in assessing the application, and how to make a submission.
You can view the proposal at www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/haveyoursay.
The development proposal is on public exhibition from Monday, September 24, with submissions welcome until 4.30pm on Friday, October 26.
You can make a submission online at the above link, via email or post.
