Football Mid North Coast reserve grade premiers Port United added another piece of silverware after they defeated Wallis Lake 2-1 in extra time in the grand final.
The opening goal was scored by Josh Walpole for the Forster outfit in the 24th minute. However, the lead lasted barely a minute with United hitting straight back.
Brett Ervine unleashed a strong effort on goal which beat the Wallis Lake goalkeeper and levelled the game up at 1-1.
In the second half, moments came and went as did chances for both sides to take the lead.
It became one of those games where the next goal scorer was likely to be the winner but neither side were able to find it.
The match went in to extra time and no goal was found in the opening 10 minutes. The sides swapped ends, players starting to struggle after an intense match in the heat. With six minutes to go until penalties, the goal finally came for Port Macquarie.
A brilliant Dave Pugh header came back off the cross bar and fell invitingly for Jarred Kohler. He smashed home a perfectly executed half volley giving the keeper no chance and United a 2-1 lead.
United then held out, backing their defence which had been strong all season. Extra time came to an end and the double was complete for United. Kohler was named man of the match.
