The event is hosted by a different branch each year, and provides a chance for branches from across the zone to touch base and learn about the fundraising endeavors others have undertaken throughout the year.
This year, the topic of focus was the drought relief appeal.
Read more about the drought relief appeal:
“The regional manager, Janelle Cauzabaun attended, updating branch members on ideas that have worked and any natural disaster updates,” Forster-Tuncurry branch secretary, Janet McMahon explained.
“She spoke a lot about the drought relief appeal, which Red Cross has done a lot of fundraising for, so she explained where that money was going and how it would be used.”
Alongside a number of guest speakers, Member for Myall Lakes, Stephen Bromhead and MidCoast Council mayor, David West attended the event.
“Mr Bromhead opened the event. It’s good to have that connection to what is going on in the community, and that link to share what we are doing with the community,” Janet said.
“It was a lovely day, a great chance to catch up with everyone and share what we have all been working on.”
