The Swimming New South Wales (SNSW) short course 12 and under championships were held over the weekend, and Forster’s Harrison Tancred was the star of the show.

Seven Swimming North Coast (SNC) swimmers from four clubs in the area took park in 24 events, with 10-year-old Harrison racking up the best results.
Harrison won two medals and claimed three top 10 placing from six swims, all with personal best times. A magnificent achievement from one so young.
Harrison took first place in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 38.46, third in the 199 breaststroke with a time of 1.26.46, fourth in the 200 medley with a time of 2.44.35, eighth in the 100 fly with a time of 1.17.23, and 10th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1.07.86.
Others from the Forster club included 10-year-old Ethan Hudson, who came 19th in the 100 fly with a time of 1.20.098, and Eva Keen, also 10-years-old, who came 13th in the 50 fly with a time of 34.98, 14th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1.09.83, 15th in the 50 freestyle in 31.95 and 16th in the 50 back with a time of 37.18.
The championship event was a new venture by SNSW, where the aged swimming was split and the older age group, 13 and over was let out to 19 and over, this took care of open swimmers.
The 13 and over championship event was held two weeks ago.
