The body of a 44-year-old Bunyah woman has been retrieved following a single vehicle accident on Bunyah Rd this morning.
Manning Great Lakes Police District inspector, Allan Fidock said the police were alerted to the incident at around 6.15am on Monday, September 3 after a car was located off Bunyah Rd, Bunyah.
“The car had gone off the road and into a dam,” he said.
“The 44-year-old woman had finished work at Krambach the night before and hadn’t been seen since.
“The scene of the accident was located by her partner who was looking for her in the early hours of the morning."
The process of retrieving the car from the dam was delayed as crews were waiting on a police diver from Sydney to remove the body from the vehicle.
Inspector Fidock said there had been no formal identification of the deceased, and investigation into the accident was ongoing.
