The weekend got off to a flying start for the Tigers as the women’s Southern League Tigerettes comfortably won their qualifying.
The final score was a convincing 6-0 over Pacific Palms.
They now have the week off to prepare for a grand final qualifier.
Saturday morning saw the Tigers under 12 gold wrap up the premiership with an emphatic win over Old Bar.
The score from that match was a convincing 8-2.
They now play Great Lakes next Saturday at Tuncurry at 10.20am in a qualifying final.
At Taree, the under 15’s Tigers Black claimed the under 15’s premiership.
They produced a 2-0 win over the Wildcats.
The 15’s now have a week off before taking on Wingham in a grand final qualifier on August 25, most likely at Tuncurry.
A win sees them advance straight to the grand final.
Boronia Park in Forster saw the under 18’s Tigers Black defeat Great Lakes 1-0 to earn the premiers title in their division.
They also earn themselves a week off.
Next up, they will take on the winners of the Tigers Gold and Wingham clash for a place in the grand final.
In the men’s Southern League elimination final the Tigers defeated Great Lakes.
It was a titanic penalty shootout 9-8 to move on to a semi-final.
That will be against Wallamba at Nabiac next Saturday at 2.30pm.
In other matches, the Tigers’ first grade side secured the club’s place in the Football Mid North Coast Premier League for 2019.
This was achieved with a tense 1-0 win over Wauchope.
Reserve grade went down 2-4 after battling back from 0-2 down.
The 18’s Tigers Gold team defeated Tinonee 2-1 to claim a second place finish.
16’s Black lost a tight one 0-1 at Gloucester.
This means they will play Tigers Gold in the elimination final.
That game will be at Tuncurry next week at 11am.
15’s Gold finished 3rd after going down 2-5 to Wingham.
They’ll take on Taree in two weeks time in an elimination final.
13’s Gold beat the Wildcats 2-1 to finish third in their comp.
They finished just below Tigers Black who had the bye.
12’s Tigers Black went down bravely to Taree 0-4 to wrap their season up.
The junior finals series will start this coming weekend.
The Southern League finals series is now in it’s second week.
Premier League has one more regular season round to go.
The over 35’s competition also has a final regular week.
