The Great Lakes Cricket Club held its annual general meeting recently, and decided to enter a team into the Mid North Coast McDonald’s premier league competition in season 2018/19.

The club has a solid depth of bowling talent in Will Howard and Sam Whitbread already playing in the premier league competition.
Add to that left-hand batsman Liam Simpson and the club will have three players experienced in the competition, a huge benefit moving forward.

The club’s new president, Sam Bowkett is also an accomplished bowler.
“There is plenty of young talent ready to take the next big step up,” Bowkett said.
The team will be supplemented by a number of young players from C grade looking to extend themselves in the new season.
The club also has a few older heads in Dave Balaam and Damien Bestwick, who can provide a steadying hand.
There are a couple of young wicket keepers/batsmen in Scott Orchard and James McBride who would both be great at this level of cricket.
New to town is cricket guru Barry Everingham who brings with him decades of playing and coaching experience that will add polish to a young and exciting group of cricketers that will represent the Great Lakes area.
