Officials will today begin investigations into the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in Coomba Park on the evening of Monday, July 2.
Rural Fire Birgade units from Coomba Park, Pacific Palms, Green Point and NSW Fire and Rescue were called to a property on Coomba Rd at about 10.30pm to find the house engulfed in flames.
Coomba Park Rural Fire Brigade’s Robert Manners said the fire had started approximately 15 minutes before the call came through.
“The sole occupant of the house was not injured and managed to move his car out of the way of the fire,” he said.
“We had six units on the scene as well as NSW Fire and Rescue, and we were at the property until around 2am.”
Two units have returned to the scene this morning, but with much of the house destroyed in the blaze, there isn’t a lot left to sift through.
“We are just finishing up making sure the fire is completely out this morning,” Robert added.
“There will be an investigation into what exactly caused the fire, but at this stage we really don’t know, we just need to get the place cleaned up.”
