The event was held in conjunction with the NNSWF boys’ State championships from June 8-11.
The TOP camp is held each year and provides a valuable development opportunity for up and coming referees across the State.
The event is used to coach and view some of the best young match officials, as well as to give them an opportunity to strive for future selection to officiate at FFA national tournaments.
Seventeen-year-old Zac has been selected regularly as an assistant referee in FMNC premier league matches this season.
“The camp was a great experience,” Zac said.
“I'm thankful to have been given the opportunity to attend, it was a great experience and I learnt a lot that will make me a much better referee, and also made new friends.”
During each day of the State championships, Zac, along with other boys at the camp officiated a number of games as a centre referee, assistant referee or fourth official.
There were also sessions on advantage versus possession, judging fouls and many other components of the laws of the game.
The NNSWF girls’ TOP camp will be held in October in conjunction with the girls’ State championships.
