Growing up in Sydney, Jenny’s attachment to our sparkling waterways and laid-back pace of living was established early on, as she often visited the Great Lakes for holidays.

“We used to travel up here with the kids for the May school holidays,” Jenny recalled.
“My oldest son is 45 now, that’ll tell you how long we’ve been coming here! When he was five or six we started visiting the area, we would stay in Tuncurry.
“We’ve just always loved it up here, and my husband and I both knew we wanted to buy something and move up here when we retired.”
Even after her children were all grown up and moved out of home, Jenny continued to visit the area with her husband.
“We had to get a fix of our little getaway, we tried to come up here every year,” she said.
“Then we bought a house in Forster about 20 years ago, moved on up and have just loved every minute ever since.”
Jenny plays tennis regularly at the Forster Tennis Club, and has been a recent acquisition to a number of charity groups around town, most recently helping to organise the Pink Ladies fashion parade fundraiser.
“We also enjoy going out a lot, we have lots of friends up here and we all go away together on holidays too, but it’s always so nice to get back here afterwards,” she said.
“My husband loves doing odd jobs around the house, gardening and that sort of thing, it’s just such a lovely place to be.”
After pursuing a variety of jobs in Sydney, Jenny has well and truly earned some relaxation time, and although she sometimes misses her old home, this is the spot for her from here on in.
“I was always lucky in the places I worked, we loved it in Sydney too, all the kids grew up there, one is still there.
“My oldest son is in Noosa, and another daughter lives here, out at Darawank with her husband and two daughters. It’s so good to have family close by, I think it really makes a place.
“We love it up here, we won’t be moving anywhere else now, this is our spot.”
