
The Taree Pun-Jing Bonsai and Suiseki Club members are inviting everyone interested in the art of bonsai to an open day at Club Taree, this Saturday, May 26 from 10am to 3pm.
Club members will be displaying their bonsai trees, which are grown with love and care for many years some being as much as 50 years old.
Members will be on hand to discuss the various aspects of the art of growing and caring for bonsai trees.
Everyone is welcome, admission is $2, and there will be lucky door prizes.
Also on hand and giving talks and demonstrations will be Ashley from Bonsai World on the Central Coast.
Ashley has had a passion for bonsai since his school days and frequently visits China, USA and Japan to study new developments.
He will be bringing with him a large selection of bonsai plants from basic starters to advanced trees, including figs, pines, conifers, maples, elms and swamp cypress, and will be available to answer questions on the art of growing, potting, shaping and pruning.
The members of Club Taree Pun-Jing Bonsai and Suiseki Club meet twice a month, and always welcome visitors and new members to the meetings and workshops, where the more experienced bonsai members are available to give advice and encouragement to the less experienced.
