Preschoolers across the MidCoast are in for a special treat when MidCoast Libraries hold special storytime sessions to celebrate the children's classic "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" from next week.
The Manning Entertainment Centre brings us The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show in two sessions on Wednesday, June 27, and MidCoast Libraries and the Manning Regional Art Gallery will celebrate at libraries across the region from Monday, May 28 until Monday, June 18.
A Preschool Storytime session devoted to the Very Hungry Caterpillar will be followed by a special craft activity presented by the Manning Regional Art Gallery and morning tea.
The Manning Entertainment Centre will also be giving away a free family pass to the Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, and anyone that attends one of the special Preschool Storytime sessions will go in the draw.
"We're having lots of fun celebrating this much loved children's book by Eric Carle, which was first published in 1969 and has since then sold over 30 million copes around the world," library events officer, Danielle Donnelly said.
"Many of us remember this story from our own childhoods.
"We're excited to be working alongside our colleagues from the art gllery and the MEC, to bring this very special celebration to a new generation of children across the MidCoast."
