Fifteen athletes from the Mid North Coast have done their home proud, representing NSW at this year’s Special Olympics National Games, held in Adelaide.

Three local 10 pin bowlers claimed some big wins. The team was led by Jason Holley who is now in the mix to represent Australia at the World Games in Abu Dhabi in April 2019.
Jason claimed gold in the singles and doubles and a bronze in the team event. His team-mates, Grant Percival and Gavin Anderson were also at the top of the medal tally. Grant took a fifth in the singles and doubles and claimed gold in the teams event, while Gavin snagged a silver in the doubles, fifth in the doubles and a gold medal in the teams event.
Mother of bowler, Jason Holley, Julie Daskal said the entire team was amazing, and gave special thanks to team mums,Tracy Percival and Sharon Chamberlain.
“It also wouldn’t have been possible without all of the local business's in Forster and Tuncurry and the locals who supported us, also my Bunnings barbecue crew,” she said.
