Vice-president Kit Carson expressed appreciation to treasurer, John Lynch for his stewardship and to the women’s social committee for their contribution funding and organising many social events.
Floral arrangements were presented to Val Barnes, Jean Lines and Eunice Coombes.
Spokesperson, Terry Young said although the closure was disappointing it proved necessary due to dwindling membership and the vagaries of age.
“The final night thought had been an enjoyable oine which confirmed the ongoing camaraderie which had been enjoyed over the years and was given in all ex-navy personnel,” Mr Young said.
“Members are committed to maintaining the social aspects of the association and get together would continue to be arranged to ensure members kept in touch.
