The Great Lakes Rotary Club is putting on a special community event to follow the Anzac Day march, for the first year.
The Rotary Club will be serving a barbecue lunch for the public in Lone Pine Park from on Anzac Day, following the 10.30am march and 11am Memorial Ceremony. The barbecue will start up at 11.30am, with all welcome to attend.
This added attraction and service to the community will enable local citizens to linger a little longer and socialise, before heading to other attractions of the day or heading home. This community service by the Rotary Club of Great Lakes is part of an “action April.”
Other events of the drive have included catering for a Bunnings barbecue, and meals at Relay for Life over the past two weekends.
This Saturday, April 21 the Rotary Club of Great Lakes is staging a fashion parade extraordinaire, starting at 1.30pm at Club Forster. This fundraising event will feature Helen Richey from Dancing with the Stars as a celebrity guest.
Those in attendance will get the chance to talk with Helen on the day. The event will feature displays of health and beauty products and many raffle and lucky door prizes. These are just some of many wonderful examples of Rotary in action serving our community.
