A group of enthusiastic motorcycle riders will take part in the 2018 Black Dog Ride 1 Dayer on Sunday, March 18.
The group will meet at the Taree Leagues Sports Club at 8am before their departure at 10am.
They will travel via Wooton Way to Oxley Reserve in Harrington.
The group is raising funds for Black Dog in conjunction with the ride.
Thousands of riders will take part in a ride on March 18 as well.
What are they riding for?
Since 2010, Black Dog Ride's 1 Dayer has brought together riders for an enjoyable and meaningful day of riding, uniting like minded people to raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention.
Black Dog riders are united together to show a strong, national message of mental health awareness to prevent this tragic loss of life to suicide.
Statistics show eight people a day take their own lives while one in five Australians experience a mental health condition each year.
About three million Australians are living with depression or anxiety.
The tragic loss of loved ones to suicide drives Black Dog Ride to build a community culture of awareness, inclusion and acceptance.
Breaking down the barrier of silence encourages our friends, family and colleagues to seek help, because mental illnesses are just that, illnesses.
They can be managed and people living with them can lead meaningful, fulfilling lives.
Fostering awareness is the catalyst for encouraging help seeking behaviour and preventing suicide.
