“It’s easy, simply select “donate” and then choose Great Lakes Women’s Shelter,” Julie said.
“This is an exciting development for GLWS, adding a much-needed source of ongoing funding for us.
“We have set up a building fund which we are calling “Project 2020”, with the aim of building a six-bedroom, purpose-built shelter within three years. We are working with the community and the State Government to make this a reality.”
Along with the Forster Woolworths site, funds can also be donated to the project at another resource recovery collection depot at 12 Dee Crescent, Tuncurry.
Just leave cans and bottles in the designated area marked “Women’s Shelter Donations”, just drop and go.
“Since the Tuncurry resource recovery depot opened in December 2017, more than 11,000 containers have been donated,” Julie said.
“This is a great start and we want to build on that as much as possible.”
