Each student created four feathers, a red, yellow, green and blue, and then worked together to create rainbow coloured wings, the end result forming the ‘together we fly’ artwork.
“We started to make this artwork in week two of term when we talked about our school core values,” teacher, Jessica Craythorn said.
“The values are respect, personal best ans safety. We also discussed the need for a collaborative classroom.
“We discussed how having a growth mindset and doing your personal best will help us fly this year,” she explained.
“Collaboration is a key skill in the new futures learning curriculum. Collaborating with your peers teaches our students that when we all work together, no matter how small the individual contribution is, the end results will be amazing!
“When we collaborate we learn how to get on with others who may not think or work the way we do, we learn that we can come up with new ideas, new ways of approaching a problem and that there may be even more than one solution.
“Thanks Tuncurry Public School year three and four for bringing so much colour to our world!”
