Members of Forster Tennis Club have celebrated a special group of volunteers as two long serving members retire.
“The group of men is affectionately known as the “A” team,” club member, June Southwell said.
“The public grounds surrounding the club are dutifully cared for every Friday morning by the group.
“They take care of the landscaping, gardening, painting and court care.”
The two long serving volunteers who are calling time on their monumental commitment to the club received certificates of appreciation last week.
Celebrated volunteers Warren Wilson and Tony Harkin are pictured below with club president Margaret Guider.

The men were celebrating the 15th anniversary of Warren’s formation of the group. Back when it was first formed, Warren and his wife Jan planted all the gardens.
Warren and Tony have are among a number of A team members who have been serving the club for the whole 15 years.
Anyone wishing to join the group should call in early on a Friday to meet the guys and share a breakfast.
The “A” team is made up of Ken Rex, Warren Wilson, Peter Wakeling, Doug Kessell, Bernie Breithaupt, Bob Gorman, Steve Hill, Tony Harkin, Dennis Wood, Terry Wood, Bob White, Max Smith, Ray Moase, Brian Adams and Tom Bouttell.
