“There has been a great response from providers of aged care and support services through out the Manning and Great Lakes with 15 information booths booked,” Mr Tickle said.
Those who have had to face the challenge of either caring for the elderly or trying to access support services will attest to the stress that this can create.
“Being better prepared is the key,” Mr Tickle said.
The expo brings together specialists from Centrelink, Manning Hospital, financial experts in aged care funding, as well as the representatives of aged care facilities and services, all under the one roof.
“Saturday was chosen because it is important for the children or carers who might otherwise be unable to attend,” Mr Tickle said.
“Understanding the process, services available, and generally pre-planning, can save the areas of rusted decisions due to necessity.”
The expo is being held at the Winning Post Function Centre at the Taree Wingham Race Club, Bushland Drive Taree and is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm with formal presentations at 10.30am and 2.30pm.
Assistant Minister for Health, Dr David Gillespie will formally open the expo at 10.30am.
