The Hawaiian was joined by Port Macquarie’s Shayden Shrayder, Newcastle’s John Cruickshank, Bondi’s Liam Lucas and Kingscliff’s Buzz Van Der Waal for the week long visit to the region.
The group stayed in Pacific Palms before travelling up the east coast to promote his company Science Bodyboards.
He is considered a pioneer of professional bodyboarding and the infamous Teahupoo wave in Tahiti.
This location has since become a premier global surfing destination in the World Surf League (WSL).
Mike is a nine time world champion, 11 time winner of the Pipeline Masters and 15 time Bodysurfing Pipeline champion.
He has visited Australia several times but has only surfed in the region on a couple of occasions.
The father of two is currently based in Oahu, Hawaii.
