Claire also was eighth in the 16s 50 metre backstroke.
This ended what was a busy season in the surf and the pool for the Manning Point resident.
Claire qualified for the nationals at the NSW Country Swimming Championships held in February when finishing fourth in the 200 metre backstroke.
She was also fourth in the 100m backstroke and 12th in the 200m individual medley.
Earlier Claire was ninth in the 200m backstroke and 12th in the 100m backstroke at the NSW Age Championships.
Here she qualified for the national 100m.
Claire’s best effort came at the NSW Combined High School meet where she gained a silver in the 16 years 100m backstroke while she was 14th in the 50 and 100 free, seventh in the 100m butterfly and 13th in the 400m freestyle.
A member of the Cape Hawke Surf Club, Claire was second in the tube race at the NSW championships held at South West Rocks in February, third in the swim and second in the ironwoman.
She was a finalist in the surf race at the State championships.
Claire is now preparing for the start of next season.
