Seventy years after the first meeting approximately 75 members and guests attended the opening of the exhibition.
They were entertained by the Forster U3A Singers who sang songs from South Pacific which was written in 1947. Guests then enjoyed a morning tea based on recipes found in early CWA cookbooks of the era before taking time to enjoy the items on show at the exhibition.
On May 9 members and invited guests enjoyed a lovely morning tea with the branch patron, Joy Nestdale cutting the very attractive cake.
The branch has been active serving the Forster community for the past 70 years and hopes to keep doing so for many years to come.
