Meteorologist with weatherzone Kim Westcott said a low pressure trough came through the Mid-North Coast on Thursday followed by a cold front.
“This will see those thunderstorms start to clear with Thursday featuring some dry patches,” she said.
“There is the chance of some afternoon rain bringing between one to five millimetres of rain.
“The winds will be from a south westerly direction and you will certainly notice it if you are standing in the wind.
“The overnight minimum temperature will be between nine and 11 degrees before a cooler day of around 19 degrees for Thursday.”
Friday will see some warming conditions although the wind will continue to cause some havoc. Following a minimum of 10-12 degrees – and it will be a bit crisp too – the day’s temperature will rise to a top of 21 degrees.
The winds will again be south westerly.
On the weekend there is a slight chance of a shower along the coastal fringe, while further inland Saturday and Sunday will remain mostly sunny.
The wind conditions will be much lighter and from a south westerly direction. The maximum will be 23-24 degrees.
Sunday will probably see a return of some showers – most likely in the morning. The morning will be warmer while the maximum temperature is 22 degrees.
Large and powerful surf conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, swimming and surfing.
