The photographs of stingray and dolphin photobombers, shared by Port Macquarie photographer Richard Irwin, reminded local Roberta Pearce of a similar encounter she had just off South West Rocks a few years ago.
Dolphins are good at doing photobombs Roberta said.
Roberta was understandably surprised, and a little unnerved when the playful duo decided to take a jump over her kayak while she was paddling.
Their antics were captured by Leigh Purdie back in 2011.
The dolphins landed in the water next to me over my right shoulder, the closest one missing me by just centimetres ..... and I nearly 'xxxx' myself - I didn't know if it was a shark or what, she wrote on the GLA Facebook page.
Rob Paterson from Tarbuck Bay also wanted to share his photoboming encounter.
He was at Boomerang Beach when this bottlenose dolpin made its presence known to Rob.
Luckily Ian Elliott was on the spot to capture the moment.
“Too good not to share,” Rob said.
If you have an unusual photoboming experience, don’t forget to share.
