FORMER representative rugby league player Dean Simpson’s secret life as a drug dealer has been formally exposed, with the Taree businessman admitting to supplying “speed” dozens of times.

Simpson pleaded guilty in Taree Local Court on Tuesday to six drug supply counts as prosecutors withdrew a charge of supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing bases.
However, one of the supply charges involves 86g of methylamphetamine, including that he supplied at least a gram of the drug some 40 times.
The 41-year-old Forster local was arrested in March following a significant police investigation, dubbed Operation Carpet.
Four of the supply charges refer to indictable quantities, with Simpson admitting to dealing a total of 107.57g of speed, believed to have a street value of between $10,000 and $15,000.
Simpson was refused bail to appear in Sydney District Court on October 28 to start sentencing proceedings.
