Meteorologist with weatherzone Brett Dutschke said the variations in weather temperatures are due to a low trough sitting over the southern NSW region.
“Thursday looks like being dry for much of the day before the chance of rain increasing late in the afternoon or into the evening,” he said.
“But that should be something less than 5mm of rain. The minimum will be around 10 degrees with a maximum of up to 22 degrees.
“From Friday – and right through to Sunday – we should see some relatively warm nights with a minimum of around 13 degrees likely, which is about five degrees above the September average minimum.
“We should top 23 degrees on Friday too on what will be a fairly cloudy day.”
The higher minimum temperatures are due to the northerly winds continuing through Friday night and into Saturday.
There is a small chance of some very light showers on Sunday but these will tend to be very brief and light.
“But these winds will bring some moisture, most notably to Western NSW where they will get a bucketing while the Northern Rivers and Mid-North Coast should be the driest.
For the weekend, we can expect a fairly sunny Saturday with a maximum of 24 degrees while Sunday will start to get cooler with a nine degree minimum up to around 21 degrees.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will see temperatures of between eight degrees to 21 degrees.
“There is likely to be a wind warning on Friday and into Saturday but these will ease late Saturday and into Sunday,” he said.
“You can also expect an increase in wave height and swell on Friday but it does not look like it will get exceptionally high.”
