During these coming school holidays the Sixers will run their Beach Blast from CoffsHarbour to Ulladulla with 11 stops along the way, delivering a free Milo T20 Blast Clinic on beaches including Forster's Main Beach.
The two week travelling event will finish in Sydney over three days visiting Cronulla Beach, Freshwater Beach and finally Coogee Beach.
The development of the program comes off the back of the success of the Milo T20 Blast program, which has doubled its participants in the last year in NSW alone.
Kids attending the clinic will get to experience all the fun of Big Bash, with music, fun and entertainment all part of the program, while enjoying learning the skills of cricket in the Milo T20 Blast program.
While the program is free for kids aged between seven and 12 years, registrations are required to secure spaces .
The first 50 kids to register will also receive a pair of Sixers sunglasses.
Sixers general manager Dominic Remond said the Beach Blast was a great new community initiative brought by the Sixers this season.
“We had an appetite from regional NSW communities to bring a bit of the Sixers to their local communities and the Beach Blast provides us with that opportunity,” Remond said.
“This brings two great loves of an Aussie summer to the one program, the Big Bash and beach cricket, and we are really excited to head to these areas up and down the NSW coast during the next School Holiday period.
“Obviously the Milo T20 Blast program has been embraced by young kids across NSW and we are excited to develop a program in conjunction with our game and market development team that will continue to drive the growth of kids participation in the region.”
