Anger has risen following the latest robbery on September 15 in which two men, armed with a screwdriver and a tyre lever, targeted a Stanley Street group home for people with a disability.
The night shift supervisor, a 23-year-old man, was assaulted during the robbery.
Strike Force Swimming was established following two armed robberies in the space of an hour on September 18.
Two elderly motel patrons were robbed in their room and the Lakeside Tavern was also robbed approximately one hour later.
The robberies followed similar incidents in which Fairways Newsagency and Network Video Forster were robbed by armed men in August.
Inspector Allan Fidock assured people that Strike Force Swimming is thoroughly investigating all five incidents and renewed an appeal to the public for information.
“The people who commit these types of crimes are the absolute cowards in our community and I encourage anybody with information to please come forward and provide that information to detectives. It might just be the last piece of information detectives need to make an arrest.”
Any members of the public with information regarding the incidents are urged to contact Forster detectives on 6555 1299.
