Bruce Hall, 58, of Laguna Court, Black Head pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared in Taree Local Court on February 1, 2016.
Police facts provided to the court stated police received a call on February 10, 2015, from staff at the centre who were concerned about the behaviour of Mr Hall, who they said was watching a group of 12 to 15-year-old girls participating in a swim squad.
Police observed the accused, wearing goggles and swimming in the lane next to the swim squad, turn and face two of the girls, before submerging completely.
Police witnessed him do this three times.
When the two young females began swimming down the pool, the accused followed shortly after, using a kick board and looking underwater towards the girls a number of times.
Police continued to watch before asking the man to accompany them for an interview.
The man attended Forster Police Station a week later where he was arrested and charged.
The manager of the YMCA also banned the man from the centre for a period of 12 months.
Magistrate Grogan sentenced Mr Hall to a 12 month good behaviour bond.
