ARTEXPRESS showcases a selection of the best works presented for the 2015 High School Certificate Art examination.
The works chosen for the 2015 ARTEXPRESS exhibitions include Instinctual Perceptions, a painting by Kayla Louise Martin, who attended Great Lakes College, Senior Campus.
Her work joins that of more than 120 other talented artists from public schools across NSW.
“To be selected to be shown in an ARTEXPRESS exhibition is a great honour,” executive director, learning and teaching Dr Sylvia Corish said.
“The chosen works represent the vibrancy and vitality of these emerging artists.”
ARTEXPRESS exhibits are selected to reveal the quality and diversity of artworks submitted by students as part of their HSC assessment. Expressive forms include ceramics, collections of works, documented forms, drawing, graphic design, painting, photomedia, printmaking, sculpture, textiles and fibre and timebased forms.
The first ARTEXPRESS exhibition opens on Friday, February 5 in the Margaret Whitlam Galleries at Western Sydney University Female Orphan School campus at Rydalmere, and closes on 6 May. It will be followed by exhibitions in a range of locations across the state including the Wollongong, Wagga Wagga and closer to home at the Port Macquarie Glasshouse from September 9 to October 30. ARTEXPRESS is a joint venture the Board of Studies New South Wales and the NSW Department of Education, and is managed by the Department’s Arts Unit.
