Show president Gary Gooch said numbers were down on Friday, but people came back for the afternoon entertainment and flocked through the doors on Saturday.
“The only thing the heat affected was cattle in the campdraft,” Mr Gooch said.
“We had to stop for a couple of hours about midday. However, no cattle were damaged on the day.”
Mr Gooch said the camp draft was a popular event and the show’s biggest earner.
He said local farmers donated their beasts for the draft, so they were very conscious about keeping them in good condition.
“Over all we were quite pleased with how it went considering weather. The week before it was so wet we were worried about the grounds drying out in time for the show.” Mr Gooch said.
Other draw cards included strong entries into the championship dog and horse shows, the entry of over 50 cattle into the beef selection and record entries into the demolition derby.
Mr Gooch thanked the show committee for their hard work in the weeks leading up to the event.
“The work they do, particularly through heat, is amazing,” he said.
“There is only a small band of them and they do a terrific job.”
