From this carnival 69 swimmers from 17 clubs claimed a spot at the Speedo Sprint state finals in Sydney on March 8. Among them were six Forster swimmers: eight-year-old Dyana Crupi; 13-year-old Layne Grant; 13-year-old Hannah Hartup; 13-year-old Bradley McNeil; nine-year-old Emily Roswell; and 13-year-old Claire Van Kampen.
Entries were slightly down on last year with 143 athletes and 521 entries. Nineteen swimming clubs were represented and there were 17 technical officials in attendance.
Sixteen Forster Aquatic Swimming Club members aged between 10 to 25 years have also qualified for the NSW Country Championship meet which will be held in Sydney this weekend (February 21 and 22).
