The man was treated at the scene before being taken by Ambulance to Boronia Park where he was placed in a Westpac Rescue Helicopter and flown to John Hunter Hospital.
A Westpac spokesperson said the man is believed to have been working on the roof of a building in Forster when he slipped and fell.
"The man has sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries," he said.
"He suffered head and chest injuries and looks as though he has a fractured pelvis and a possible spinal injury."
