Great Lakes residents supported the Wear Your Footy Jersey and mufti day appeal to raise funds for the local footballer who tragically broke his neck during a game in Port Macquarie last month.
For Curtis' girlfriend Brianna Amato, who will travel down to Sydney to see her boyfriend in hospital this weekend, being part of the cause is very special to her.
She says Curtis' situation has made an impact on many people in the community.
"What happened was obviously a shock for me its been hard for everyone," she said.
