CURTIS Landers’ family may soon meet with injured Newcastle Knights player Alex McKinnon and his family.
Forster Tuncurry Hawks junior rugby league president Aaron Temple said Curtis, who fractured his C2 and C3 vertebrae, has a similar injury to that of 22-year-old Alex who fractured his C4 and C5 vertebrae just two months ago during a Newcastle Knights game against the Melbourne Storm.
Curtis is currently at the same hospital as Alex – the Royal North Shore - where Alex has been undergoing intensive rehabilitation.
Since the devastating injury, a video statement released by the Knights on May 20, revealed that Alex was making gradual progress in his goal to walk again.
“Curtis and Alex’s parents are going to get together soon, hopefully,” Mr Temple said.
“I think Alex McKinnon’s injury has really raised awareness and will help Curtis. It’s always good to talk to someone who is in a similar situation.”
