Tim Farrell and Nathan Penzer and Steve Boyce and Alby Dean put on a fine performance.
Steve and Alby at the fourth end went to a lead of 6 to 2; at the ninth end Steve and Alby had the lead of 12 to 4; but the fight back began and by the 15th end the score was 14-13 and at the 21st end Nathan and Tim had won 22 to 15.
Round six of the pennants took place last Saturday under a wide range of conditions and the results were: Grade 1 Taree Leagues defeated Forster 5-1; Grade 3 Forster defeated Taree Railway 6-0; Grade 4 Blackhead defeated Forster 5.5 -0.5; Grade 5 Gloucester defeated Forster 6-0; Grade 6 Taree Railway defeated Forster 5-1; Grade 7 Blackhead defeated Forster 5-1.
Pennant Training continues and is held every Thursday at 4pm. All pennant players to attend.
The draw for the Major Singles is now on the notice board so please play your game as soon as possible.
Anzac Day, April 25 a mixed social bowls will be held open to teams of men, woman or mixed with a 2pm start play to the bell, with barbecue and free entertainment after bowls. Dress mufti and the cost is $12 per person. The booking sheet is at the bowls office.
Dates for your diary: Road runners will hold a chicken, champagne and orange juice lunch on Sunday May 4. Lemon Tree passage will be visiting. Morning tea at 9.15am, bowls at 10am, lunch at 1pm Scroungers Game. Cost $17 per head, non members $22 per head.
