WELL, it seems the nine network have realised what many of us already know: there’s a surplus of men in the Great Lakes – just head to the Belle or the RSL for proof, less women than a spark plug collectors club.

With this in mind Channel 9 has commissioned a new television show called ‘When Love Comes to Town’. The premise of the show is to bring single city ladies to regional areas to meet our studs and the Great Lakes is one of the targeted areas.
“It’s not an elimination show or a contest show, there’s no prize money it’s just about men genuinely looking for love,” casting agent Kate Rooney explained.
“I am specifically looking for single men, 25-39 years old, in the Forster region who are looking for real, genuine love with view to having a relationship. This show is a new feel-good series, and will film an episode in the home town of two top blokes who just haven’t met ‘the one’ yet. We really want to shoot in the Forster area but we need men to apply.”
As you might have guessed your humble, single, Aries, correspondent fits the bill and my application has been lodged. The questions are what you might expect: what do you do for fun? (draw moustaches on faces in the newspaper). Describe your ideal partner (must love sweater vests, model ships in big bottles and the TV series M.A.S.H). Describe your ideal first date (Hawks game followed by a romantic swim in the Bellevue pool); you get the gist.
Obviously with my above answers I’m a shoo-in for one spot, but if you’re interested in the other spot and meeting some beautiful city women looking for love you can apply at www.whenlovecomestotown.com.au
“We are hoping to hear from single guys, or anyone who has sons, brothers, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbours, colleagues et cetera they’d like to nominate,” Kate said.
