The beach will be closed from 6.30am-3.30pm tomorrow, Wednesday, November 24 until Friday, November 26 to all swimmers and pedestrians.
MidCoast Council is taking advantage of reduced activity during this week's forecast wet weather to undertake reshaping of the beach.
Undertaken at regular intervals, work will include putting a bulldozer and excavator onto the beach to relocate an excessive build-up of sand from the retaining wall to north of the surf club.
The works are necessary to prevent the sand from moving onto the footpath and road of North Street, and blocking access to facilities such as the surf club and café.

"The works are necessary to prevent the sand from moving onto the footpath and road of North Street, and blocking access to facilities such as the surf club and café," MidCoast Council community spaces, recreation and trades manager, Dan Aldridge said.
The surf club car park also will be closed while heavy machinery is moved onto the beach, expected to be from 6am-8am on Wednesday.
North and Beach streets will remain open for normal traffic, and people will be able to access Beach Bums Café and nearby amenities.
Forster Ocean Baths will be open for entire duration of the sand shifting works.
