Christmas is just a short 12 weeks away, and plans for the annual festive season are already in full swing for many organised households and event planners.
Decorations have begun popping up on supermarket shelves reminding us the biggest family get together of the year will be with us soon.
And, with the State government pushing ahead with its planned 'freedom day' event organisers can be confident we can return to celebrating our much loved traditions.
One of the most popular events on the Christmas calendar, the Tuncurry Forster Christmas Carols by Candlelight will make a welcome return to the stage since 2019.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Lower Midcoast, this year's event will mark its 46th anniversary.
Last year's carols were cancelled due to COVID-19, carols co-ordinator, Clive Davies said.
"However, hopefully this year we will be able to sing outside, so we are planning to go ahead with Carols by Candlelight."
Due to uncertainty with on-going restrictions this year's event will be held at Harry Elliott Oval, in Beach Street, Tuncurry, on the evening of Monday, December 13 from 6.30pm.
There is no entrance fee.
The variety program of local talent will be accompanied by the Great Lakes Concert Band along with compare Lynn Lelean and a guest appearance by Santa Clause who will speak to each child.
There will be free lollies for the children.
Food and drinks, candles and song sheets will be available.
"So just bring a chair or blanket, something warm and your best singing voice and join us to celebrate the coming of Christmas."
