Although some COVID-19 restrictions still exist, those wishing to qualify as a lifesaver or paid lifeguard can still gain accreditation with courses being offered.

The courses are presented to fulfill COVID-safe requirements by utilising an online theory component prior to a face-to-face practical session.

Surf Rescue Certificates are being offered to the Forster club youth members who must be at least 13 years of age by November 14.

A combined Bronze Medallion/First Aid/Advanced Resuscitation Certificate has begun and, additionally, an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) crew course is available for members who will be 15 years or older on November 21.

Obtaining qualifications enables men and women to join an active beach patrol as a volunteer lifesaver, or paid lifeguard, and to crew or drive a powered surf craft such as an IRB or jetski.

Although the 2021-22 surf patrol season has begun nippers are yet to return due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Nippers serves to educate and provide skills to children aged from 6-14 years of age by teaching them surf safety and awareness when visiting the beach.

As soon as nippers and surf sport event constraints are lifted, dates will be released through the club website, local media and through schools.
